A lobbyist represents the
industry before the Maryland General Assembly and state and
local regulatory agencies.

Works to create a long range,
predictable and stable source of transportation funding
revenues for the highway program.

Responsible for the Governor's
creation of the Maryland Aggregates Advisory Council which
provides valuable liaison with Maryland Department of the
Environment.

Works through the Aggregates
Advisory Council to improve the local planning and zoning
process as it relates to the aggregates industry.

Active Technical Committee
meets regularly with SHA personnel to address industry
issues and provides advice to members.

Proactive Community Relations
effort develops programs for the members to create a
positive image for the industry.

Operations and safety seminars
are conducted in cooperation with MSHA as a service to the
industry.

Environmental Committee
monitors and acts on federal, state and local environmental
issues of concern to the industry.

Provides models for good
neighbor programs.

Creates models for education and
training the workforce of the 21st century.

Works in pursuit of a friendlier
regulatory climate in Maryland where mineral resources can
be used widely by future generations.

Encourages and makes awards for
site beautification programs

Sponsors annual legislative day
in Annapolis.

Works in cooperation with
national trade associations.

Active Political Action
Committee supports candidates who realize the importance of
stone, sand, and gravel to the American quality of life

Educates both the public and
our own employees about the importance of the aggregate
industry to Maryland's economy.

Maintains communications with
members via phone, mail, and this website.

works with other construction and business associations such
as the Maryland Asphalt Association, the Maryland Highway
Contractors Association, the Maryland Ready Mix Concrete
Association, the Maryland Chamber of Commerce, and Maryland
Business for Responsive Government
